Ojai village pharmacy was first established as a pharmacy in 1891 and has been passed down through pharmacists, unbroken, since that date, making it the oldest pharmacy in Ventura county.

The very first issue of the Ojai newspaper was dated october 27th, 1891 and had the first ad for the pharmacy printed in it, during that time there were only 300 people living in Ojai.

Ojai Village Pharmacy was the first place in town to have a telephone and a drug store with a soda fountain so the store became somewhere that the people of the town could gather and socialize with friends.
